📍A Surprise in Toledo | May 8, 2025
Unexpected beauty in the heart of Toledo. What looked like a plain downtown library turned out to be a stunning, museum-like space with rooftop gardens, inspiring design, and memories that hit deep. This one surprised me—and reminded me why I’m still chasing the dream.
From the outside, it looked like just another city library—unassuming, maybe even a little dated. But the moment I stepped out of the underground garage (which, by the way, might have had broken arms again?) I started to feel like I’d entered a hidden gem.
And that was before I even found the rooftop garden.
I didn’t plan to be moved. I didn’t plan to write this post sitting in a gallery tucked into a library. And I definitely didn’t expect to start thinking about architecture, socioeconomic dynamics, and the dreams I still haven’t let go of. But that’s what a space like this can do.
Here’s what I’ll say for now: if you’re ever in Toledo, don’t sleep on the Main Library.
It changed something in me today.
