📍A Surprise in Toledo | May 8, 2025
From the outside, it looked like just another city library—unassuming, maybe even a little dated. But the moment I stepped out of the underground garage (which, by the way, might have had broken arms again?) I started to feel like I’d entered a hidden gem.
And that was before I even found the rooftop garden.
I didn’t plan to be moved. I didn’t plan to write this post sitting in a gallery tucked into a library. And I definitely didn’t expect to start thinking about architecture, socioeconomic dynamics, and the dreams I still haven’t let go of. But that’s what a space like this can do.
Here’s what I’ll say for now: if you’re ever in Toledo, don’t sleep on the Main Library.
It changed something in me today.
